Syria’s Bashar al-Assad will be running for Syrian presidency in 2014, the country’s deputy foreign minister Faisal Mekdad said Tuesday."The president and many other candidates who may run will go to the people, put their programs and to be elected by the people,” Mr. Mekdad was quoted as saying today.
"It is a coup d'état if we listen to what the armed groups and those enemies of Syria are proposing,” the minister added.
The chief foreign official proposed to blacklist Turkey as a country supporting terrorists, claiming Ankara had turned Syrian refugee camps into militants’ training grounds.
