MOSCOW, September 17 (RIA Novosti) – The first Russian stage of the Red Bull Air Race World Series will take place in the resort city of Sochi in 2015, the region's administration said Wednesday.

"In 2015, Russia for the first time will be marked on the World Series calendar. The Olympic park in Sochi will have another racing track on its territory, but it is going to be in the air," the region's authorities said referring to the organizers of the competition.

The exact dates of the event are as yet unknown. The project will be unveiled within the framework of Sochi-2014 investment forum, to be held on September 18-21.

The Red Bull Air Race World Championship is the most advanced aerial challenge in the world, accessible only to the most outstanding pilots. It is a series of international air races in which competitors have to navigate challenging obstacle courses against the clock.
