Senior adviser and son-in-law of US President Donald Trump Jared Kushner said that Trump won presidential elections due to a smarter campaign.
WASHINGTON (Sputnik) — US President Donald Trump beat his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton in the 2016 presidential election because he ran a smarter campaign with a better message, senior adviser and son-in-law Jared Kushner said in a press conference on Monday.
"Donald Trump had a better message and ran a smarter campaign and that is why he won," Kushner stated outside the White House.
Kushner spoke to reporters after testifying privately before staff members from the Senate Intelligence Committee on its investigation into the 2016 election.The White House, Trump's campaign team and Russian officials have denied allegations of collusion in the 2016 presidential election and Moscow has repeatedly denied it sought to influence the outcome of the US vote.
