Lavrov calls for legal protection of Russian nationals in problematic countries

Russia plans to create a spate of centers for legal protection of Russian nationals in problematic countries, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov was quoted by a VOR correspondent as saying on Tuesday.

Lavrov touted the operation of the Fund for Protection of Rights of Russian Nationals Abroad that deals with "preparing materials on the current situation surrounding Russian nationals in separate countries.”

Additionally, he mentioned a state concept on support of Russian language and the Russian School Abroad concept, documents that Lavrov said would soon be finalized.

The top Russian diplomat was speaking at a session of the World Coordination Council of Russian Nationals Abroad in Moscow.
